My Japanese Introduction! 日本語の自己紹介!

I am trying to catch up on all the posts I need to do! It’s been far too long friends, because Level 2 was no joke! It was super challenging but I learned a lot and I’m sure if I redid this video I could do better. Let’s watch and see how I progress over time! This video was posted about 3 months ago after Level 1 was over. Enjoy! And don’t forget to leave your thoughts in the comments below.

Long Time, No See! お久しぶり!End of 2014 Post!

Sorry it has been a long time guys! My posts have been few and far between because I’ve been so busy! I apologize for that. To update you quickly on the happenings, I’ll, sadly, be posting lots of videos here. However, I hope that you enjoy them, and please look forward to the next post!

For this post, I’ll wrap up 2014 and begin updating you guys on what has happened since 2015 started! First of all, for my Japanese New Years Celebration, I went to Sunshine City in Ikebukuro with some dorm mates. We ended up going to the Observatory in Sunshine City! To give you guys some visuals, I’ll insert the video here:

It was so much fun, and as sad as I am to say it, I won’t be staying in Japan as long as I’d hoped, but I’ll be back. I listed off some goals I have for 2015, one of which is to now apply for the JET Programme come October 2015. So again, I’ll insert a video here:

And with that out of the way, I made a video looking back on what I accomplished in the year 2014:

Whew! What a whirlwind, huh? I can’t believe I’m here, and every day I am so thankful for the Gilman Scholarship and my husband for supporting me! I am so happy to share these moments, not only in blog form, but visually as well! I love getting comments from people who are interested in where I am and what I’m doing, and it truly brings me the greatest joy to share my experiences with everyone.

Thank you for sticking with me! Lots of updates to come every day this week, so get your news feeds READY!

Karaoke in Japan

So, if you’re like me, when I was in America we didn’t have Japanese style karaoke places where I live. I always wondered what Karaoke would be like; would I get shy, would it be expensive, what songs would they have, could I drink, what food was available?

I will attempt to share what I have learned in the three months I have lived here regarding karaoke, because it turned out to be a really fun, and great bonding opportunity with friends!

Overnight Trip to Gifu and Kanazawa Part 2

Took a while to make this post, but from here let’s continue on shall we?

This is a photo heavy post, so get ready!

For this part of the trip, we were headed to Shirakawa-go Village. It is a world cultural heritage site. The wiki can explain in FAR more detail than I can, so definitely check it out! And possibly listen to this video as a narration of the blog post as well.

Overnight Trip to Gifu and Kanazawa Part 1

IMG_1809

Hey guys! It’s been a long time since I’ve posted and that comes down to two things. One, I had my midterms, and two I was planning for this trip with my class, and knew that it would create lots for me to talk about and share! It takes quite a bit of time to write each post and insert photos, so thank you for being patient.

So, to begin, I’m going to link you guys to Wiki articles about the two areas I travelled to just to give you an idea geographically where they’re located. I currently live in Tokyo, so this was quite a bus ride. First, here are the Gifu and Kanazawa links. To be honest, before we left I thought these locations were a lot closer than they actually are. However the trip was enjoyable and the driver was perfect! We had a very energetic and “Genki” tour guide as well!
